With the weather better than expected it was a busy day at Bowden Doors crag.
Myself, Steve, Paul, Albert and many others had a good days on these crags near Belford, Northumberland. With the crag around half a mile long and over 150 varied routes there’s plenty of room for everyone, I reckon around 40 people were enjoying the warm day, the youth group certainly seemed to enjoy themselves. By the time the rain showers finally arrived around 14:30 most of us had a good 6 climbs under our belt, including my first true lead on a 8m VD. many thanks to the lads for lending me the gear for that one. Pity we didn’t have much time to enjoy the views of take many photo’s, I forgot to insert the memory card before leaving home. But for anyone who hasn’t been, there are great views from the top of the crags, Holy Island and Bamburgh on the coast and the Cheviots to the west give a great panoramic venue, I’ll definitely be back.
