Since the glorious day on Tuesday the weather has warmed up dramatically with an inversion on thursday making it warmer the higher you were. Wednesday we decided to wait out the rain with a day on the climbing wall at the Ice factor breaking the bordem. The warm weather on Thursday saw me staying away from gullies and out instead on top of Buachaille Etive Mor, at one point I was measuring +7 degrees at 900m. It was a warm walk up and a soggy walk down but the reward was a lowering of the cloud base to allow a view of the higher peaks poking through. Friday was a day of paper work as we transferred to Glen Nevis then today I was up Sgurr a Mhaim and the Devil’s Ridge. Only just in winter condition with the crampons scrapping the occasional rock and turf. to be honest I only wore them for the best bit of the ridge as the snow line was about 800m.
Tomorrow its an early start for the Ledge route on the Ben.
