Hello again everybody.
After a busy week on the computer updating the website with a new destination and some new features, it was time for a weekend off. I’ve been involved with our local village show in some aspect or other for many longs years and although I had plans to spend this year firmly rooted in the beer tent I was still given a few jobs to do. Good weather saw slightly higher visitor numbers and everyone had a good day if not the next morning. For the sporting aspect there is also a major fell race among other things. The run which forms part of the North East fell running calender and is a popular event. Its starts and finishes on the Show field at Thropton via the highest summit in the area, encompassing 61/2 mile and 1200 feet of ascent as well as a river crossing if its low enough. This year again saw a good selection of participants with the winner coming in at around 50 mins (sorry no official timings)
