After a years absence from rock climbing it was good to get back on something that wasn’t covered in snow and ice. It was a lovely sunny day at the weekend, though not exactly as hot as the title suggests, in fact it was a flipping cold wind on top of the crag, still it had the look of summer if not quite the temperature. Lots of others were out on their first climbs of the season and the crag at Kyloe was justifiably popular. Being a bit rusty we had a bit of a slow start and took things at a steadier pace, better to ease oneself back into things rather than rush it and make mistakes. By the time we knocked it on the head mid afternoon we managed 2 VS leads and second’s as well as a good social chit chat in the sun, not something people are always keen to do when in the middle of a typical winter’s day. Hope to get out a lot more over the coming weeks before works takes me to warmer climates.
